Welcome to BJC HealthCare! Below are important steps that new employees or newly benefits-eligible employees need to take to ensure their understanding of BJC benefits and what they need to do to complete benefits enrollment.
Step 1: Prepare to enroll in BJC benefits
New employees have 31 days from date of hire to enroll in benefits (medical, dental, vision). Newly benefits-eligible employees also have 31 days from the date of their eligibility to enroll. Please click the Benefits Enrollment Guide link below for information on enrolling in benefits, when coverage begins for new employees, dependent eligibility, benefits options, and more.
If you have benefits questions, contact the HR Hub (BJC network access required) - you may chat online with an HR Hub representative 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, or submit a request for a representative to contact you.
Step 2: Enroll in BJC benefits
Review Steps to Enroll and then go to myBJCnet to get started. You will need your network user ID and password to access myBJCnet. When you complete your enrollment, please save or print your confirmation statement showing your benefit selections.
Step 3: Enroll in the BJC 401(k) Plan
You are eligible for the 401(k) plan starting on your hire date. Review the BJC 401(k) Plan and then go to www.vanguard.com/enroll. Enter your information and then click “Begin Enrollment”. You will need your social security number, date of birth, and BJC 401(k) plan number: 093371. Or enroll by phone at 800.523.1188.
If you don’t make an election or opt out of the plan within 30 days of your hire date, you will be automatically enrolled in the 401(k) with a 4% pre-tax deferral. You can start, stop, or change your contributions to the 401(k) at any time on Vanguard’s website. You may choose to contribute on a pre-tax basis, an after-tax (Roth) basis, or a combination of both. You can expect to see your first 401k deductions on the first paycheck following 30 days of employment.
Step 4: Post-enrollment
Explore the Total Rewards site to learn about other offerings, such as tuition assistance, Enrich financial services, employee discounts, employee well-being offerings and much more.
