BJC provides both full-time and part-time employees with Short-Term Disability (STD) benefits at no cost after they have completed six months of employment with BJC. Employees may file a claim for STD benefits if they foresee a need to be out of work for a health care need, such as surgery or child birth.
If the employee’s claim is approved, BJC’s STD benefit will pay 60 percent of an employee’s weekly earnings up to $2,500 per week for 25 weeks (or 180 days). While disabled, employees are required to use PTO at 100 percent for the first five days, followed by 40 percent each day until their PTO is exhausted or they return to work.
Regular full-time and part-time employees who have completed six months of employment with BJC.
