BJC offers to eligible employees both short-term and long-term disability benefits to help replace some of the income you would lose while you are disabled.
BJC’s short-term disability (STD) benefits pay 60 percent of your weekly earnings up to $2,500 per week for up to 25 weeks (or 180 days) after completing six months of employment with BJC.
Under BJC's long-term disability (LTD) benefit, full-time employees, after completing six months of employmnt with BJC, receive 50 percent of their base pay, up to $8,000 per month at no cost.
Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance Option:
- Full-time employees have the option to purchase an additional 10 percent in coverage to a maximum of $10,000 per month
- Part-time employees have an option of purchasing 60 percent in coverage up to $10,000 per month, after completing six months of employment with BJC
- GME Resident House Staff must purchase LTD insurance unless they provide proof of coverage from another plan within 31 days of their hire date and again each year during the annual benefits enrollment period
